As staff members working towards implementing the mission of Lake Country Unitarian Universalist Church, we do covenant with one another to the following:

1. We will maintain supportive relationships with one another, keeping an open mind and heart towards each other.

2. We agree to be respectful, honest, open, and intentional in our communications, assuming good will and striving to be worthy of it. We will also remain mindful that despite good intentions, the impact of our communications may be hurtful. If we cause harm, we will seek to repair it.

3. We will hold sensitive information in confidence and will not share it inappropriately.

4. To maintain healthy relationships within the staff team and the congregation, we will promote open, direct, and honest communication, and we will work towards resolution. For handling complaints, conflicts, or concerns, we will speak directly with the person(s) involved whenever possible.

5. We will express and maintain clear personal and professional boundaries while respecting the boundaries of others and honoring one another’s whole lives. In order to support the overall functioning of the congregation, we will refrain from participating in activities that are a conflict of interest.

6. In our deliberations we will expect and welcome differences of opinion, and we will be mindful of power dynamics in our process. Once we have come to a decision, however, we will all support it.
