Sunday Service
10 -11 am

Worship

Worship doesn't serve a single, static purpose; rather, we gather for a multitude of reasons and needs. Whether it's on Sunday morning in the sanctuary or in a small group around the fire pit, we arrive for worship for many reasons: we long to be inspired, comforted, changed, opened, challenged, loved, forgiven, lifted up, seen, connected, or filled with wonder. Sunday Services

Sunday Services

LCUUC is currently hosting the worship services both in-person and online (see the Home page for more details). Visitors including children of all ages are welcome to attend any service.

LCUUC offers a variety of services throughout the year. Some annual services include the Water Communion which reminds us of our global connections, student transitions services which celebrate our children and youth, and the Flower Communion which reminds us of the beauty found in each person. Some other recurring services include the Christmas Eve service and services bringing up special topics from the Worship Arts and the Social Justice committees.

Our UU minister provides worship services throughout the year. Guest speakers and members from the congregation also lead services, offering unique perspectives on various topics. For details on the visitor's experience, go to Visitor Information.

The LCUUC building has an ADA compliant non-gendered restroom, hearing assistance headphones, wheelchair and scooter seating, and can accommodate other special needs.

Soul Matters

Soul Matters

LCUUC subscribes to Soul Matters, an organization that provides monthly worship themes to many Unitarian Universalist congregations. In addition to providing themes and guidelines for Sunday Worship services, they also provide curriculum for small groups and for children’s religious education programs. These monthly themes provide many avenues for deeper understanding of our selves and connection with others.

Small Groups

The Soul Matters Small Groups Program offers a means to connect more deeply with ourselves and others.

Each group of approximately eight participants is led by a facilitator, and they meet with the same group every month. Each individual is asked to engage in one of the recommended spiritual exercises from a monthly packet and reflect on one question before each meeting. They come to the meeting ready to share their reflections on both. In addition to sharing reflections, they are asked to listen deeply to one another. The structured group format includes an opening, brief check-in, sharing of the spiritual exercise, discussion of the chosen question, gratitude check-out, and closing. The monthly meetings are held on Zoom or in-person depending on COVID guidelines and the wishes of the group.

Click here to see a sample Small Group Packet. The packets are given out to the groups as needed.
