About the Role
Oversight and Classification:
The Classroom Assistant Nursery Childcare Provider is supervised by the Director of Family Ministry and is considered an hourly position with expected reimbursement of $17 per hour.
Hours: 9:45am to 11:45am every Sunday
(Occasional extra hours may be available for special church events.)
Responsibilities:
Provide safe and nurturing care during the worship service for children from infancy through 3-4 years of age.
Flexibility to shift into classroom assistant role for older children (4-11) when needed
Engage children in simple activities.
Attend to physical needs such as bathroom breaks, runny nose, etc.
Maintain the nursery environment by tidying toys, removing broken toys, cleaning up spills, wiping surfaces.
Greet parents, ensuring that children are signed in and out, and projecting a sense of calm and cheer.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience with early childhood care
Good communication skills for interacting with parents
Red Cross First Aid training preferred (LCUUC will reimburse)
Candidates must be 18 years or older
Agree to and pass a criminal background check
Sign and abide by the Code of Ethics for youth and adults in leadership roles with children
